My name is Yuuko and I’m an amateur writer, of sorts. I’ve only really dabbled in the realms of fanfiction until I decided to try my hand at NaNoWriMo in 2009, which is also when I set this blog up so I could blog my successes and failures, as well as post exerpts and synopses of my various nanowrimo projects! Though there were times when I almost gave up I did manage to win NaNo ’09, mostly thanks to the support network I discovered on Twitter.
In all honesty I wasn’t that chuffed with my final product as much as the fact that I made it to the target, and have since left it in the darkest corner of my hard drive to gather dust. It’s more than a disappointment, especially as I loved my characters and how they developed as I wrote and I loved most of what I wrote, but that last week or so to try and make up the 50k killed it for me. I hope to one day try again with the same characters and a different story though, because it’d be heartbreaking to just let them disappear.
For now, though, I am preparing for NaNoWriMo 2010! I have a plot and premise, as well as most of the characters and something resembling an outline, which already makes me way, way more prepared than I was last year. I also decided to come back and spruce this place up… at which point I realised that I had obviously deleted the database that this blog was linked to, and the website was now dead. *sadface* So I’m having to start over with this blog, which I guess isn’t all bad, fresh starts and all. Just have to remember not to do anything stupid to it after I finish this year! /fail
