2011 – The Shadow Flood

SHORT SYNOPSIS
Varsidien is a city that is slowly dying, for this is a city where ghosts really do roam the streets, hiding in the darkest places, just out of sight. Even though they are all aware of the rise in deaths and disappearances the city’s inhabitants go about their daily business blissfully unaware or perhaps unwilling to confront what lurks around them. Sometimes something will catch the corner of their eye, they will feel as if they are being watched, that vague sense of unease in a perfectly normal environment but as they turn and find nothing they dismiss it as a trick of the mind, nothing to fret over.

These are Shadows, ghosts and demons that have found a crack between Varsidien and the City of the Damned and come through in order to feed on human souls or to possess a human host. They do not discriminate, they take anybody who crosses their path, man or woman, rich or poor. The cracks first began appearing because the cities somehow became twinned, creating a link between them, and are a direct result of all manner of evil creatures trying to break through and wreak havoc on the human world. In order to combat the flood of such creatures there is a society made up of people who are able to see these creatures and drive them back with the use of spells and holy weapons, but there is only one person who can sever the link between the cities; the Dawnseeker. But the emergence of the Dawnseeker is also said to signify the coming of a great war between the living and the dead.

What if the only saviour of the world was also the reason it was to be annihilated?
